♡ Megane Gal Amyrin ♡: City Pop Night!

Now that I got enough sleep I can blog about yesterday

In case you didn't know, I LOVE City Pop music!

I grew up loving 1970's funk and disco music like Bee Gees, Earth Wind and Fire and ABBA. Then last year I decided to deep-dive into the neon colored world of City Pop, which was influenced by those genres. There's something very magical about its atmosphere and musicality

Back in April, I found about City Pop Night, a monthly party in downtown São Paulo, which I attended with Ronron and Larie. Yesterday, Ronron and I attended again (and Larie was supposed to be with us too but she couldn't this time

). The best part is that it's a FREE event, so no ticket is needed! You can just walk in!

I wore 80 denier tights because it was REALLY cold last night ~さむい

unfortunately those were the closer to my skin tone I could find! Note to self: look for tights that actually match my skin

I was supposed to wear some white lace shorts but I couldn't find them for life. So I went with that skirt, which doesn't look bad but the short would be a better option ಥ⁠╭⁠╮⁠ಥ

Ronron and I both got at the club at 9PM, and this month's party was a bit different as it was their first anniversary! So there was free cake!

They also had those candy-filled balloons... But unfortunately I couldn't get any candy

You might have (rightly) guessed that everyone's favorite tracks were "Plastic Love" and "Stay With Me". There was even a lady dressed as Mariya Takeuchi! But people get so TURNT with "Stay With Me" it's crazy (myself included)!

It's very crazy to think that a almost 50 year old song, in a completely different language, sung by an artist who is already gone, gets everyone so hyped to this day! Music really is magical

I also love "Goodbye Boogie Dance", "The Stress", "Bay City", "Flyday Chinatown", "Shyness Boy", "Neat Na Gogo Sanji", "4:00 A.M." and "I Can't Stop the Loneliness"

I just wish they played more Yukiko Okada!

The party ended at 2AM. Although I had fun, I had a sore throat all week, and it got worse after it. Because of it, I felt like I didn't enjoy it as much as in April. After a while, I had to stay shut and avoid talking, which was annoying because I was with Ronron and we love talking and gossiping to each other!
